Hitchens’s raw and clearly spoken honesty in all things was a one of a kind. Long after his death I am still learning from him. Thankfully we still have Sam Harris, but Sam lacks the cutting humor and literary expansiveness of Hitchens. I also relate to his dislike of the title of “contrarian.” I think he was trying to say his views may be contrary to those held by most others, but this is not his intent-this just happens to be the case and he just happens to be vocal about those views.

Something in the description of this video about the Hitch is totally wrong and misrepresents him. “The September 11, 2001 attacks strengthened his embrace of an interventionist foreign policy”. This is not true at all, he had been for removing Saddam Hussein from power many years before 9/11 and he was in solidarity with the Iraqi opposition, particularly the Kurds. I have not been able to find any updated information on Ali Mohammed, but he is almost certainly in witness protection.

Has anybody else noticed, that throughout this discussion, Christopher Hitchens is framed in camera in a very awkward position? What i mean is the rule of thirds concept of framing someone in a shot. William Buckley and that idiot Emmett Tyrrell are framed just right in the thirds rule, but the camera angle on Christopher looks awkward. I wonder if because he was a liberal (i hate the term, but for arguments sake) and the other 2 are conservative, this was an intentional ploy in the hands of the producers and director?
